On Sunday 30th March Spen will be playing at Irlam in the British Team Championship

At the bowling meeting on the 9th January Mr Arnold stated that the Masters was full with a reserve list of 39 bowlers.

It was also stated that we are to put an extra team in the Mirfield League making four teams in total.

Dates for the internal comps;are, Jack Blackburn trophy Sunday 30th March; Spring Handicap Friday 30th May and 6th June.

Club Champion Friday 25 July and 1st August; Member and Guest Sunday 8th June;

The Ladies Open will be played on Sunday April 20th commencing at 10:30am. Played on two greens with £200 to the winner.

Qualifying dates for the Spen Masters 2008 are as follows FRIDAY JUNE 27th, FRIDAY JULY 4th, SATURDAY JULY 12th & JULY 26th,

SATURDAY 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, of AUGUST. Practice times for the friday nights will be from 6:00pm with play starting at 6:30pm.

Practice times on saturdays will be from 5:30pm with play starting at 6:00pm. The FINAL NIGHT WILL BE SATURDAY 6th SEPTEMBER.

Practice will be from 4:45pm with play starting at 5:30pm. To the winner £1000 to the runner up £500. Entry fee is £20.

On Friday night Gomersal Mills were successful in winning the final beating Cleckheaton Sports by the narrow margin of two points

The 'C' team's run came to an end in saturdays quarter final round losing out to Milnsbridge but well done getting so far.

Saturday in the Yorkshire Cup saw the defeat of both the 'A' & 'B' teams. The 'A' team going down to Brighouse and the 'B' team losing to Netherton

In the Henry Taylor Cup the 'C' team beat West Riding Sports. Well done and good luck to them in the next round.

The (A) team have reached the semi-final of the West Riding Cup and play Lower Hopton (A) at Low Moor, while the (B) team take on Eccleshill (A)

in the semi-final of the Pilling Cup at Cleckheaton Sports. Both matches are played on Friday 13th April commencing at 7:00pm.

At the recent A.G.M. Peter Ellis was re-elected Chairman and David Arnold was re-elected as Secretary and Ian Wilson as Treasurer.
