Brighouse Heavy
Woollen League Match Friday
9th May 2008 The under
fifteens brought home their first victory in a rearranged league match at
Brighouse. Spen bowled
first and opened again with Matty Haley, who had another great spell and
took three wickets, and rising star Tom Raven. Sam Sharp and Oli Davison
took six wickets between them - Sharp who was on a hat trick and Davison
who got helped by a batter walking onto his stumps. The other wicket taker
was Courtney Hodgeson and was brilliantly backed up by James Housecroft
and Deraj Sharma. The joint top scorer for Brighouse was extras with
twenty-four runs. Deraj Sharma
and Oli Davison got off to a great start and were on fifty-two without
loss until Sharma was undone by a ball that nipped back into his middle
stump. Ten minutes later Davison retired on thirty-five after a good
batting performance. This left Chris Rodwell and Ant Dowling to get the
winning runs. A solid performance from Spen who went home claiming a
valuable four points. Match Report By
