Spen Sign Overseas Stars |

Spen Victoria CC have begun to make inroads towards bolstering their squad for the 2008 season by signing two new overseas stars. Naeemuddin hails from the Punjab region of Pakistan and is primarily a batsman with a first class average of 50.75 and a high score of 216 not out vs Hyderabad for his home side of Sialkot in 2007. At 23 yrs old he has already played 6 first class matches in Pakistan scoring over 400 runs. He has also taken eight first class wickets with his right arm off-break bowling at an average of 29.98.
Spen have also completed the signing of Imran Amin. A right arm medium fast bowler, he is also from the Punjab region of Pakistan. However he is UK qualified allowing Spen to play both him and Naeemuddin under Bradford League rules. Amin is 28 years old and has a first class bowling average of 36.40 with 42 wickets in just 13 matches. Previous stints in English cricket include two spells with Aston CC in the Derbyshire Premier League Division One, with whom he took nearly 100 wickets in just two seasons.
